First Dominican Hospital (FDH) commenced operation as Okambah Clinics and Maternity Home in 1990. Due to rapid growth and expansion, it became necessary that it should be incorporated as a limited liability company to tap into the corporate world. In July 1991, Okambah Clinics became First Dominican Hospital Limited.

Meet Dr. E. G. Okafor-Mbah
Dr Okafor-Mbah is a seasoned General Medical Practitioner with over 39 years of experience. He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine ( MD) degree from the Universidad Central del Este, San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the World Organization of Family Physicians (WONCA), Fellow of Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), and the NMA. He was the WONCA Liaison Officer for Nigeria ( AGPMPN) 2005 to 2009.
